For decades, Communication Studies have been primarily occupied with the question of media influence, especially in relation of advertising, marketing, public relations and above all, political propaganda. As both in the private and public sector, considerable sums of money are spent on these activities, we have to assume that that governments believe that public communication works. Countries such as Hungary with strong centralized media are estimated to spend up to 2% of the total GNP on it. Israel, spending an estimate of up to 1.6% have increased their spending on Hasbara with 150 million USD in 2025. By comparison, estimates about spending on public communication in the Third Reich vary between 0.3% and 0.5% of the GNP. So factually speaking, most (“western”) governments today spend relatively more on propaganda than the Nazis did in the Third Reich.
This is not surprising, given the vast expansion of the culture industries since the Second World War and the vast increase in time people spent being exposed to forms of mediated communication as part of their everyday lives. The fight over the “minds and hearts” of people – which is an essential part of hegemonic rule – as taken centre stage in democratic societies, in which the winners can use the state to increase their personal wealth. Investing in politics makes perfect sense from a business point of view. Elon Musk buying Twitter has certainly enabled him to use this platform to cement his friendship with Donald Trump and exponentially grow his wealth (until they fell out 2 months ago).
This all makes perfect sense. To win elections, one must spend because one must buy the minds and hearts of the electorate; to make the state work for one’s private interests, one must tag financial support onto decision making. In the USA, politics has become reduced to continuous campaigning and campaigning means diverting donations into public communication.
PR is an essential tool, not only as a means to accumulate electoral capital, but also to sustain power. Most policies that favour wealthy donors (e.g. the gun lobby, the fossil fuel lobby, the pharmaceutical lobby, the military industrial complex) have negative consequences for the vast majority of the electorate, because most of them enable the funnelling of public resources and expenditures into private ownership and income). Thus, the ability to “spin” public information has become a cornerstone of politics in so called democratic societies.
However, something seems to have gone wrong more recently. Despite vast sums of money being spent, combined with strunningly one-sided propagandistic media reporting and continuous violations of constitutional rights to free speech, Zionist Hasbara is failing to win over the hearts and minds of common people in western nations, including the most loyal Zionist nation of the USA. Selling genocide as self-defence is of course never going to be easy. Denying genocide, however, requires your soldiers not to post their war crimes in social media and above all requires government spokespersons to avoid any expression that betrays genocidal intent. Despite the fact that no other armed “conflict” has caused so many casualties among reporters and journalists, Gaza remains the site of a live-streamed genocide.
You can always try to piss on people and convince them it is rain, but at some point in time, the piss will start to stink. We have now entered the post-Hasbara era, where it is no longer necessary to tell people it is rain. We are being pissed on, but now Israeli and Western media and politicians tell us it is piss and provoke us by asking: “and what are you going to do about it?” By invoking ridiculous accusations of anti-Semitism, terrorist sympathies and by repeating that “Israel has a right to defend itself”, they are insulting everyone’s intelligence. It does not seem to matter to them anymore, that their stories and explanations have become completely incredulous.
This is the semantic violence of post-ideology. It has become a form of bullying, provocation and extortion. By presenting a map of Greater Israel on 22. September 2023 (as the blessing that ends the curse of Middle East), Benjamin Netanyahu had already abandoned the strategy of presenting Israel as a normal, legitimate state. Any state that lays a claim on territories beyond their borders – including Russia as it claimed the Crimea, the Donbass and now the Ukraine – is considered a rogue state, except – apparently – the Zionist state of Israel. It is not unthinkable, that at that time he might already have known of the Hamas attacks. His action might actually have been a provocation. As from October 7th 2023, the formal execution of the establishment of a Greater Israel was accelerated. The more one thinks about it, the more ludicrous the statement “Israel has a right to defend itself” actually sounds. The presentation of the map was clearly a declaration of war.
The reason why growing numbers of ordinary citizens of nations that are being subjected to relentless Zionist Hasbara no longer believe their own media and politicians is because there is not really a serious attempt to persuade the masses anymore. Instead, the plan of Greater Israel requires western nation states to become more authoritarian and oppressive. Democracy is too unpredictable for the pursuit of Zionist interests, just as it has become too volatile for securing the accumulation of wealth among the filthy rich. The filthy rich require not only totalitarian regimes but also warfare. Incredible amounts of capital are invested in the military industrial complex because it is not subject to free market dynamics. If you won the state, you can ensure that the value of your shares in the military industrial complex can be determined by political decisions, not by market transactions.
Israel is the live laboratory of military Research and Development. Israel is also the hot zone of cyberwarfare, including the development of spyware. Palestine is the place where innovations in militarized security are being tested, live, under real experimental conditions. Israel will never stop creating hot zones of conflict. Once Gaza and the West-Bank are ethnically cleansed, the new zones will move to Lebanon and Syria. Jabotinsky never stated where the iron wall should stop.
By their relentless assaults on democracy and freedom of expression, Zionism is also trying to secure the external conditions of its endless expansion. They have willing helpers on the far right of most western nations, who admire Israel for both its ethnocratic and racist, militarized society and its continuous exteriorized racist aggression towards people they believe are less than them. For those on the far right, Israel is a utopian society because unlike in the Third Reich, the majority of its population actually support the genocide of others. They are cheerleaders of war crimes and human rights violations. Three generations of a militarized inculcation of racist supremacy are enough to create a majority-fascist political culture.
The rise of the far right all over the world – also three generations after the end of the Second World War – has reached a tipping point. Soon, there is no need to convince the majority of people that they should give up their constitutional rights for the right of Israel to exist. Soon there is no possibility to appeal to the Charter of Human Rights because with the relentless assaults on the UN, the paper tigers of international law will be worth less than toilet paper in times of constipation.
Israel is the most significant destroyer of the UN, not because it claims to be a Jewish-majority state, but because it has now realized the most extreme form of identity thinking. It thereby undercuts every appeal to the universal applicability of law. This opens the door to destroy all potential obstacles for the pursuit of private interests. Law collapses because it never had any force of its own. The world destroys itself because it cannot articulate any shared interest in its existence as such. From the outset, Zionist could not exist within the framework of international law, because it could never conceive of itself as anything but an ethnocratic ideology.
With the collapse of ideology, the ideological state apparatuses – media, schools, universities, political parties, trade unions, research institutes, think tanks etc – no longer need to pretend they are working for the greater good, they don’t even need to pretend that they work for the lesser evil. Ideological State Apparatuses will now work for the Greater Evil: opportunistic identity thinking in service of the Cyber-Fossil War Machine. Whereas anti-Semites will want to identify a jewish-globalist conspiracy as the main culprit, we know that this is merely the same smokescreen that fascists and national socialists deployed when talking about the Jewish-Bolshewik enemy within a century ago.
The CFWM has no identity, it does not represent an ethnic group. It mobilizes the greed, anxiety and neurosis of the filthy rich and their sycophantic enablers and offers them utopia at the expense of their souls. Because they have lost their dignity and humanity, these filthy rich and their enablers have no real problem subjecting all life forms, human and non-human, to degrading modes of existence. Many of those living in the west are also invited to abandon our sense of dignity and trade off our souls for a slightly better life. This, however, is hardly ideological. There are no good arguments, no compelling ideas, no persuasive rhetoric: just some arrogant dirty old men banging their fists on a table.
