The Terminator films had already painted a scenario of what would happen if the CFWM© discovered that humans are dispensable. Torday, it is no longer a question of if, but of when. There are, of course, many similar fictional versions of dystopia that portray humans being destroyed by their own creations. However, it is not only humans who pay the price; entire webs of life are being reduced to barely functioning—and often even zombified—remainders, made redundant by the entropic forces of machinic conatus.
Of course, every post-apocalyptic account can be dismissed as “exaggerated,” but only until it happens. For people in Gaza, it has already happened, and for those in the West Bank, it is about to happen. One might still insist that the IDF are not the CFWM, as they are still referred to as “humans.” Yet it should be made clear that they are mere appendages of a gigantic technological war machine—one that combines informatics and ballistics and operates under the directive of annihilating all life forms.
What we now face is the real possibility that the CFWM has already made its final push. The extremely toxic combination of the musky Trumputin soiling the digitalized domains of technofeudalism, while masturbating to fantasies of a Côte de Revière replacing the rubble of Gaza, represents the completion of cartoon villainy: history repeating itself for the second time, but this time as farce. As the odor of kakistocracy becomes unbearable and we experience the sickness unto death, one wonders: how much suffering does the CFWM intend to impose upon humanity before finally pulling the plug?
As I have stated before, in our thousands and in our millions, we are all Palestinians. What has befallen the people of Gaza, and is now being imposed upon the people of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and southern Lebanon, is our future as well. Just as protesting against colonial imperialism is defined as an act of terrorism, and speaking against genocide is twisted into Holocaust denial, so too will we ultimately become “enemies of the state” if we refuse to become cannon fodder for the CFWM.
Staatsräson, once a term designating the supposed higher necessity of state survival and order, has been mutated into a grotesque doctrine of moral immunity. It now functions as a license to commit or condone atrocities in the name of national interest, particularly when filtered through the lens of Western geopolitical allegiance. The term no longer signals a tragic tension between ethics and politics—it has dissolved that tension altogether by declaring ethics null and void. To invoke Staatsräson today is not to make a difficult decision for the sake of collective safety; it is to sanctify violence, to silence dissent, and to uphold impunity. It is not reason of state but unreason in state form, masked as sovereignty.
As Staatsräson has become an apology for crimes against humanity—and is celebrated in the same spirit as that of the supporters of the Third Reich, with only the victims swapped for supposedly less-worthy enemies—we are finally confronted with the complete moral collapse of “Western civilization.” It was never more than a façade to begin with, but at least it was upheld as a façade; now it is nothing but a monstrosity of hypocrisy and blatant racism. Staatsräson now resonates precisely among those who actually celebrate genocide.
Perhaps we deserve nothing better than this, one might argue. However, there are certainly many more who do not deserve to be—once again—the expendable “human resources” of the kakistocratic logic that venerates the CFWM without knowing they are its puppets. Socialism or barbarism was once a strong program of European communism. The West has chosen barbarism, but has failed even to respect the qualities of barbarism. Western barbarism has no courage, knows no truth, honors no honesty, and understands no loyalty. It is the worst kind of barbarism that exists.
